Steven G. Smith
In 1999, Steve Smith founded Plus Consulting as an entrepreneurial alternative to traditional “Big 5” consulting firms. Prior to founding Plus Consulting, Mr. Smith held management positions with leading service providers including Andersen Consulting, Ernst & Young, Coopers & Lybrand, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mr. Smith’s knowledge regarding the management of people and information has evolved through “hands-on” experience managing and overseeing dozens of ERP, CRM, SCM, BI, Web Portal and IT Strategy projects over the past decade. As a result of his extensive experience, Mr. Smith’s combination of skills is an enabler for organizations wishing to improve performance and efficiency through changes in processes and systems. His experience and knowledge quickly establish trust and leadership, and then methodological approaches drive the successful completion of project initiatives.
Mr. Smith holds an MS with concentration in Management Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and a BS with a concentration in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire (UNH).
Mr. Smith is a recognized leader in the regional technology community. In addition to his role with Plus Consulting, Mr. Smith founded the Greater Pittsburgh CIO Group and functions as the Group’s Executive Director. He is also a Board Member for Duquesne University’s Supply Chain Management Undergraduate Degree Program and is a frequent Lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University’s Graduate School of Industrial Administration (GSIA), University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate MBA School, APICS and AMR events.
